Hey!

My name is Brendan Cecich (ses-ich) and I am a 23 year old photographer from Perth, Western Australia.

I discovered my interest in photography in late 2014 with the use of my family camera, and instantly fell in love. The next few years I was faced with high school and took on the life of an ATAR student, sitting exams and losing focus of photography during the years. Upon my completion of high school in 2018, I hadn’t reached the grades, I’d hoped for, and I started to doubt myself and what my future was looking like.

With no idea what to do, I decided to dive back into photography, curated a small portfolio and applied to study at Curtin University. Somehow, my small collection of photos secured me a position to undertake a Bachelor of Design, majoring in Photography.

Outside of uni, I was eager to get more experience, and fine tune my skills. My mother is a music teacher here in Perth, so growing up I was always surrounded by music, which lead me to explore and immerse myself in Perth’s music scene.

I started to take photography more seriously. I quit my job, started my own business, and tried to build my portfolio as much as I could.

I began to work with some media outlets such as The Music and Isolated Nation in order to get my foot in the door. Shooting shows under a ‘3-song’ media pass doesn’t really allow for much networking, but I tried my best to capitalise on it as much as I could. Introducing myself to almost every single person I crossed paths with in order to build strong relationships within the industry. From artist managers, to stage managers, and sometimes even the front of house teams.

Within 6 months of graduating high school, I found myself sitting in the same rooms as some of the biggest artists in the world, including Swae Lee, Post Malone, Billie Eilish and more.

Beginning my journey with photography, my skills have since expanded to include film, and creative direction. Notably, taking on the role as creative director for highly acclaimed, Sydney management and record label - Astral People contributing my vision to communicate the visual identity for Arno Faraji.

Extending beyond the music realm, I encompassed partnerships with brands and clients across various creative fields. Working with brands such as Logitech, JD Sports, Nanlite Global and many more.

Over the years, my involvement and experience as a photographer and videographer allowed me to rise to management and director of photography roles for prominent nation-wide music festivals to the likes of Falls Festival, Listen Out, Ice Cream Factory and more.

Through my work, I aim to offer a glimpse into my world of visual storytelling, a tribute to my passion and dedication in creating art.
